Back to ♥ Tribecca Glasgow

On request of Aa, we decided to do brunch at Tribecca.
It was his turn to savour the glorious post night breakfast. Sadly, there's still 4 more nights to go .
The place was empty at 1025am but started to fill up as we approach the 11am mark. No reservations accepted btw.

042-2

Totally love the canopy

Aa went for the stacked pancakes which he gave a good thumbs up. Fluffy as one would like them to be.

I went for THE HUDSON: A classic Honey Roast Ham, Tomato & Melted Swiss Cheese Omelette. Served with a generous portion of toast.

Mind you , these omelettes consist of 5 eggs per serving. Be totally WoWed when the UFO-sized plate land on the table. I am sure they use large eggs or ostrich egg of some sort.. (joking..)

I was extremely full by the end of the meal. Managed to stay satiated until dinner time. Certainly makes the 12 pound meal (Medium Mocha included) more value for money

♥ Tribeca Glasgow

I feel so liberated having finished 7 nights. The thought of just being able to chill throughout the day not having to worry about getting up at 6pm, rush through a microwave dinner and be in for work at 8pm makes me = )

The night crew decided on American Breakfast Cafe, Tribeca, for our post night grub.

*Looking forward to the Huge portions of pancakes, potatos, honey, bread, sausages, eggs lots & lots of eggs !!!!

I settled on The Varick!.. My tired brain must have been confused. I went for the French toast instead. To say the least the portions were huge though: a Head of baguette and 2 thick toast soaked in "eggie" batter. The accompanying maple syrup provided much of the needed sugar I had burnt on my last night. I like how it came in a nice Ikea Glass jar. *Gimmicky but I like !

005-2

My friend had the Egg Benedicts on Toasted Seeded Bagel, topped with Smoked Salmon.
He must be hungry. I was barely halfway through my plate and he had finished his.

I got to try some of my other friend's Brooklyn. A 3 layer pancake stack with butter and syrup. She was hungry and needed a savoury fix. Hence the Bacon.

You know... I am glad there is some sort of an American Cafe around. I've grew up wondering what it was like having some American breakfast in a cafe sitting amongst a cool gang of friends. The deco (including that Yellow NY Taxi) and all provided a great American feel.
As for the food, I've got a bit of a mix feeling. It looks the part. Larger portions than usual but... the taste didn't blow me away.
*blame it on the tiredness. I think I will be back again just to give it one more shot

Breakfast @The Drake

The flat stumbled upon this wee breakfast place tucked away in a basement along woodlands road.

French Toast bigger than the size of your palm with organic honey

A full scottish fry up bound to heighten all lipid levels.

Its nothing to wow about but at least, its convinient, cosy relatively cheap and does the job of satisfying one's breakfast craving.

I shall return.

p.s: only available for weekend brunch

Procrastination with Kway Chap

I was contemplating a morning run yesterday after realising how I have been so nua over the last few months. Despite feeling rather tired, I went for a short run and some static exercises. That's the healthy bit until I decided to have Kway chap for Breakfast lolol.. My only saving grace was me telling Auntie not to give me the pig Skin!... *oink

Kway chap. BBCs.. is a platter of mix pork meat, innards, soy products and egg all stewed in a savory soy, cinnamon broth. This is often eaten with Kway teow (flat rice noodles) or rice along with lime chilli sauce as a dip. See ... we do have our form of haggis here as well.

For me, I tend to skip the innards lol. Never really had an affinity for them. More palatable items include the stewed pork, tofu, tao pok and egg oh yum yum.. I used to bite off the top bits of fat on the pork as a child cos I thought of them as being really unhealthy lol.. Nowadays lolol Its a different story but I do eat in moderation.

Amb's Birthday @ Kember & Jones

We had a wee birthday breakfast at Kember and Jones the other day since the lecture failed to show up after 30 mins. This shop on Byres road prides itself as a Fine Food emporium that stocks mostly high quality foods and interesting kitchenware and cookbooks. In addition, you can enjoy a nice breakfast and lunch as well as dinner in its upstair dining area or do it al fresca while watching the Glaswegian crowd walk by.

Freshly baked Scones

Huge!!! Meringues

Great Selection of Cakes and Tarts

Scones came in 3 flavours that day: cheddar cheese, cranberry and plain ones.

Huge Huge Meringue with fresh cream and berries berries

This is the bomb man. Freshly made waffles with organic honey and lotsa fresh berries. This is the dish you should learn guys if you wanna impress girls. I tried looking for a waffle machine online after eating this as i was so inspired to make one. well... my inspiration plummeted after finding out that a good waffle maker actually cost more than 20 quid... lol.. Obviously I'll be under utilising if I do buy it. Oh wells.

For 4.25 quid you can treat yourself to this sweet temptation at K&J.~~

Custard Donuts from Tescos

These are the next best donuts to Krispy Kreme and you can get them at a fraction of the price. 69p ONLY for 5 pieces. Furthermore there was a 2 for 1 pound offer. ShioKness!

Look at the custard. Custard taste vanillaish in case you were wondering and obviously sweet. I had 4 out of the 5 pieces in one day. Its so good. I'll have to save one for breakfast tomorrow though.

BeetRoot Salad

There's just something about beet root that I don't like.. I've never tasted it and i don't intend to anytime soon. The dye really turns me off. Oh well.. Aa can enjoy it on his own lol.

P.S: won't be posting for the next 3 days. I'll be heading down south. heehe

Cafezique - Breakfast with the Girls

Got a treat from the girls today. I was intending to go to Macs to satisfy my unhealthy food craving but Mich decided to check out this cafe in Partick. I used to stay there and have always been familliar with Delizique. Since its renovation sometime last year, they have expanded to include a cafe as well. I had high expectations for this place because Aa has been talking about since my 2nd year.

Had a hot chocolate to start off.. Alas.. I was dissapointed.. not chocolatey enough.. it felt really thin. At least I could taste the chocolate but that was about it.

For brunch, I had the big fry up. A typical scottish breakfirst consisting of tomato, baked beans sausages, potato scones, bacon mushrooms and black pudding which i substituted with a poach egg. On top of that another 2 scrambled eggs to go with it. It was ordinary but satisfying.

PY has crab linguine. I wished I ordered this instead. It was fantastic. U could taste the crab sauce with each mouthfull of linguine. In someway, I feel challenged to make this dish haha. Dosen't look too difficult does it? Its all a matter of procuring some good crab meat. ;)
