Zizzi.

I chanced upon this restaurant while surfing on the internet and given that it was at such a convenient location, I was pretty happy to go try it out.

On to the food....

ARANCINI, Risotto balls coated in breadcrumbs, with mozzarella, grana padano cheese and peas. Accompanied by a tangy tomato sauce, with a hint of chilli

BRUSCHETTA AL POMODORO, Toasted garlic ciabatta heaped with fresh tomato, basil and red onion with a drizzle of olive oil

It was a pretty simple dish. Nothing huge to rave about but I like it anyway.

INSALATA CACCIATORE, Juicy confit duck and crispy pancetta crown a salad of mixed leaves, lentils and spring onion with Grana Padano cheese and balsamic vinegar

Aa and C had this dish... Its a pretty small portion for a tenner.. but it tasted good and the duck is quite a novelty.

RISOTTO DI PESCE, A creamy risotto packed with flavours from the south of Italy. Juicy tiger prawns, oak-roasted salmon and calamari together with courgettes, spinach, fresh lemon and a touch of chilli

I have very little experience with risotto but K the risotto expert who uses it as a measure of an Italian restaurant's standard felt that it was reasonably good.

PENNE DELLA CASA, house favourite: smoked pancetta and pan-roasted chicken with baby spinach and a cream and mushroom sauce. All baked in the oven with Grana Padano cheese

AUBERGINE PARMIGIANA, Aubergine in a rich tomato sauce oven-baked with mozzarella and a big sprinkling of Grana Padano cheese. Served with a mixed salad

LINGUINE GAMBERi, Juicy tiger prawns and fresh tomatoes in a tomato sauce with a fiery touch of chilli

Pasta was al dente. Very good. It was on the spicy side. Not sure whether the locals will tolerate this level of heat. Prawns were big and succulent.

The star had to be this amazing pizza. Freaking HUGE!!!

and only possible with this impressive oven !!!

Overall, a good restaurant in a convenient location with good main dishes but slightly under par appetizers. Makes a great menu for parties !!!
